Preps
It is hard to believe that we are almost three quarters of the way through our first year at school. The time has certainly flown by. It has been such a busy term and without doubt the highlight has been the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. The kids have had a great time in the kitchen and in the garden and we thank Kaye for providing such an amazing program. The program would not run without the involvement of parents and families so we would like to say thanks to Estelle, Nat, Alicia, Carly, Luke, Lauren, Craig, Rachael, Ash, Lachlan, Rory, Lauren, Karen, Allison, Chona, Tracey, Amber, Jess, Callum, Belinda and Edwina for helping with the sessions.
The students have worked really hard this term, and we are seeing lots of improvement in their writing. We looked at procedures, alliterations, nouns, verbs and adjectives. This week alliterations have caused plenty of laughs and smiles in the class with writing such as ‘pink pooing pigs’ being on the pages of the kids.
The highlight of the week has been bringing your pet to school for show and tell. Over the week we have had dogs, cats and even some chickens come into school to meet the kids.
We are all looking forward to heading into the arts centre next Thursday for our excursion. Please be aware that due to the afternoon performance it will be a later return to school.
A couple of reminders, please ensure all students have a school hat and it is brought to school every day. We recommend that the kids leave the hats at school in the bag boxes to ensure they don’t forget them. As the weather gets a bit warmer, please make sure that all students come to school with a bottle of water to drink.
