Term 3 Everest Program

Every Thursday select students from Level Three to Six participate in extension sessions to explore an array of English and Numeracy topics. Students were given an opportunity to help to decide what areas were covered in the classes and enjoy working with like minded peers. This term many levels took part in group projects such as class newspapers and magazines. The students thoroughly enjoy these sessions and always have a positive attitude towards their learning each week.

The teachers running the sessions are

Alisha Spiteri- Level Three’s

Courtney Larsen and Lillie Powell- Level Four’s

Rana El-bay- Level Five’s

Vanessa Keen- Level Six’s

Student voice:

Level 3:

Adib- Everest is a real challenge but I enjoy it because kids in others classes get to come together.

Level 4:

Chloe D- I love how we get to do such challenging work that makes us have to really think.

Level 5:

Chloe and Hayley- In Everest this term, we have been doing many fun challenges such as escape rooms, critical thinking questions and creating a class newspaper. As part of the Everest program we have been having lots of fun doing activities. Our excellent teacher Miss El-bay is doing such a great job at helping us on our learning journey.

Level 6:

Ryan K- We are working on making some fun magazines about topics that interests us. I am writing about Neymar the Brazilian Football/soccer player. We also did a maths theme escape room earlier this term with a group.

Qihao F- We have been doing fun activities, such as the escape room that we did a few weeks ago, and now we are making a magazine. We also learnt a lot of challenging math questions. I am very proud to be in Everest.
