Peninsula Track and Field Championships:

Congratulations to all the St Mary's students who competed at the recent Peninsula Track and Field Championships and finished in the top three.

Dante Genge	2nd in 100m
Aria Lavis	3rd in 800m, 1st in 400m, 2nd in 200m
Ava Lenton-Carter	1st in 100m, 1st in 200m
Brodie Cullen	3rd in shotput
Quinn Go Sam	2nd in Javelin
Toni McQueen	2nd in triple jump, 2nd in high jump, 2nd in 400m
Emma Pullar	1st in long jump, 2nd in 200m, 3rd in 100m

Karate:

Congratulations to Year 11 student, Yuzu Horino on representing Australia at the 27th Geshinkai All Japan Karate Tournament Championships in Yokohama, Japan! The team performed exceptionally well and was invited to an international camp with the heads of karate worldwide!

JSS COMPETITION

Round 3 of the JSS competition saw St Mary's have a clean sweep, winning all sports.

Touch Football girls won 5-0
Touch Football boys 9-2
Soccer girls won 2-0
Soccer boys won 4-1
Netball won 45-8
AFL won on a forfeit
Basketball girls won 32-22
Basketball boys won 64-42
Volleyball girls won 2-1
Volleyball boys won 2-1

Next week St Mary's will compete against Cairns State High School at their home venues.

KEY INFORMATION

Junior Sports Program - Key Information:

All sports information is uploaded to the Sports Canvas page.

Year 7, 8 and 9 Students: Wednesday, Periods 5 and 6

All students wear their St Mary's sports uniform (Sports shirt, shorts, and St Mary's socks). Students should also ensure they bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen.
Students are to refer to the Junior Sports Plan to know what activity they will be participating in and where they are to meet at 1:30 pm.
JSS teams will be playing against Cairns State High School in the second round of the JSS competition. All students are to meet outside of the HOB at 12.45 pm.
JSS students should ensure they bring their sports equipment and wear the appropriate sports attire. Soccer players are to wear shin-guards, and AFL players are to wear mouth-guards. Students will need to bring their lunch to JSS.

Year 10 and 11 Students: Tuesday, Periods 5 and 6

Year 10 and 11 students must wear their St Mary's sports uniform (Sports shirt, shorts, and St Mary's socks).
Year 10 and 11 students, please refer to the Senior Sports plan to determine what activity you will be doing and where you are to meet at 1:30 pm.
Year 12 students will engage in the graduation program for Semester 2.

TCS & PENINSULA TRIAL INFORMATION

PENINSULA PAPERWORK

Students wishing to trial for TCS must complete the Peninsula paperwork before they can trial. This can be downloaded from the Sports Canvas page, or a printed copy can be collected from the leaflet box outside the Sports Office (near the Sports Mailbox).

Parents must complete the Peninsula Paperwork before the student can attend the TCS trials.

The Sports Department will seek the relevant approvals from the College Leadership Team. Two days after submission, students can collect the Peninsula Paperwork from the Sports Office at lunch.

Students must take this paperwork to the TCS trials (unless it is paper nominations). If it is a paper nomination, parents must submit it via the link/QR code provided.
