YEAR 10
Year 10 Key Information
- Year 10 students will attend the 2024 Cairns Youth & Careers Expo next Thursday. This event provides hands-on experiences and demonstrations, helping students explore diverse career options and VET pathways. By engaging with local industries and training organisations, students will gain valuable insights to guide their future career choices. Students are required to attend in formal uniform.
- In Week 9, Year 10 students will participate in the 'Unleashing Personal Potential: Equip Leadership' workshop. This full-day, high-energy training session challenges students to harness their influence, strengths, and teamwork skills. Through interactive activities and the A.S.P.I.R.E. framework, students will develop the qualities of great leaders and effective team players.
- For students who have expressed interest in the 2025 VET program, Helen Petre from our Trade Training Centre will contact them in the coming weeks to schedule interviews. These interviews are an important step in the application process and will be conducted during Week 1 of next term.

It has been an enormous week for our musical cast! Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this incredible production to life. Over 1000 parents, carers, family and friends from our College community thoroughly enjoyed the show! We hope all involved have a restful weekend after one of our most significant events of the year!
ALL SCHOOLS TOUCH FOOTBALL COMPETITION
Best of luck to the students attending the All-Schools Touch Football Competition in Townsville this weekend. We look forward to hearing about their success in the Sports Bulletin in the coming weeks.
FATHER'S DAY ASSEMBLY
We are looking forward to our inaugural Father’s Day Assembly next Tuesday in the Hugh O’Brien Centre, where some fantastic Lucky Door Prizes will be up for grabs! All families within our College community are invited to join the celebration as we honour the Fathers and other influential men in our lives. We encourage all families to enjoy this celebration and share morning tea at our Green Leaf Café after Assembly.
PUPIL FREE DAY
Pupil Free Day: Friday, August 30.
The College office will remain open from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
LAPTOP USE AT HOME
We encourage parents/carers to monitor the use of student laptop use at home. Please see some helpful tips below:
Laptops should be used in a common area at home in view of parents/carers for school work and personal use.
Provide timelines for accessing the laptop: Homework should be completed within 1 – 2 hours in the junior school.
The student laptop should be charged in a common area overnight in preparation for school the following day.
Should parents/carers require additional support regarding their child's laptop use at home, please contact their Head of Year. We have some great support we can provide families with this process.
