African Drumming

During this term in their Performing Arts sessions students have been learning African Drumming. This will culminate with a performance and a small Art Show on

Thursday 12 September 2024.

The foyer outside the Library will have a display of students Art work and will be open from 5:45 until 6:15pm.

The African Drumming Performance will be in the Hall starting at 6:30pm.

As our facilitator of African Drumming, Odai is from Ghana in Africa, we thought it appropriate that students dressed in the colours of the Ghana flag.

The Ghana flag is made up of red, yellow and green horizontal stripes with a black star in the middle.

The red symbolises the blood lost in their battle for independence.

The gold is for the gold and mineral wealth of the country, and

the green is for the crops where they get their food and for the forests.

The black star is their colour.

This means students will wear black bottoms and a red, green or yellow top for their performance of African Drumming.

Wishing the following children a very happy birthday.
