Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Last Friday our Foundation - Year 2 students were excited to attend an excursion to Seaford Library to celebrate their Book Week where they enjoyed a performance. Thanks to the Library for inviting us.

Also on  Friday our  Year 5/6 students had the opportunity to play against Mahogany Rise PS. We had wins in all sports on the day which is always a bit exciting. Well played everyone! Tomorrow our Year 5/6 students continue their Winter sport program playing Netball,         T-Ball and Soccer against Seaford Park PS at home.

Next week we are at Mahogany Rise PS for the Seaford District Lightning Premiership. .

The Father's Day Stall was on Tuesday and I thank Michelle Haggarty for organising this and the mums who staffed it. It seemed like a lot of very special gifts were selected.

Today we had our celebration where the dads, and other special male figures, joined us at school to spend some time doing an activity or two before having a sausage. There were over 100 visitors in attendance so thank you all for finding the time.

Thanks also to the staff for their organisation and especially to our Learning Support Officers who were busy on the BBQ!

It is perhaps hard to imagine that Jesus too had a father and, at this time, we should reflect on our 'dads' and Joseph himself as the positive role models they are to their children.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's. Hope you have a great day.

I am pleased to wish Mrs Brown a happy time of leave commencing next Thursday when she will be heading to Scotland and doing a bit of travel through to the end of the term. Her 3/4 class will be in the very capable hands of Mrs Suzanne Ribet who is very well known to all the students at St Anne's.

Next Saturday 7 September our Parents and Friends have designed an evening of fun for our annual Trivia Night. Please attend if you can to help raise funds to continue the improvement of our school's facilities and take the opportunity to have some fun with other members of our school community.

Our school continues to grow in terms of student numbers. We will be entering 2025 with approximately 200 students which is a far cry from about 10 years ago when we were around 130 students. I would like to let you know that due to families changing their minds for a variety of reasons including moving from the area and repeating 4 year old kinder a few spots have opened up in our Foundation classes for next year. If you know of anyone who is still unsure, or second guessing themselves, please let them know and we can see if St Anne's is the right fit for them. We also have some very limited vacancies for other grades in the school as well for those wishing to join our faith community.

Kind regards and God Bless

Rod Shaw

Principal
