SMR ATHLETICS

Last Thursday, twenty students continued their Athletics success representing McKinnon, competing at Casey Fields at the Southern Metro Region Athletics.

 

We had 19 gold medals in events and twelve students going through to the State Finals at Lakeside arena on Monday 21 October.

Christina Tan - 1st in Hurdles and 2nd in High Jump

AUSTRALIAN YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 

The Australian Youth Volleyball Championships were held in Bendigo from Sunday 15th to Friday 20th September.

 

Congratulations to Rosie O’Brien (Year 10) and Sophie Kay (Year 9) for winning Gold for Victoria in the Under 16 Girls.

Well done to Jayvier Yang, Braden Fischer and Michael Gordeyev (all from Year 9) for winning silver in the U16 Blue team for Victoria.

A great effort by other McKinnon students representing Victoria in the tournament as well: Adam Suchard (Year 9), Leigh Kontopoulos (Year 9), Mateo Capurro Martinez (Year 9), Lio Widianto (Year 8) and Alma Segev (Year 11).

MELBOURNE VIPERS

Current Year 12 student, James Kay has represented the Victorian Vipers Men’s team in the Mahindra Australian Volleyball Super league, reaching semi finals and finishing up with a bronze on Sunday 13 October.
