Kharisma Kids - OSHC

We ended off last week with more Henna artwork with Priscilla donating an hour of her time after work to apply some artwork to the children’s hands before the weekend. Thank you, Priscilla, for your time and help.
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful community at St Francis de Sales where parents have been happy to help after a day at work. We see the joy in their faces and the children’s faces too. We are forever grateful.
Onto this week we continued with our “India” theme with some more children completing their Crepe paper flag activity. The children coloured in elephants embellished in jewellery and material, a tradition for the Elephant Festival celebrated in parts of India each year.
We finished off the week with the children making/designing their own snakes and ladders game.
“Snakes and ladders is a board game for two or more players regarded today as a worldwide classic.[1] The game originated in ancient India as Moksha Patam, and was brought to the United Kingdom in the 1890s. ……. The object of the game is to navigate one's game piece, according to die rolls, from the start (bottom square) to the finish (top square), helped by climbing ladders but hindered by falling down snakes.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_and_ladders)
Our preps put on a show for us and the parents mid week:
When the sun shone we took advantage of the warmth and fresh air.
