 STAGE ONE NEWS

We’re thrilled to let you know that Stage 1 has kicked off Term 3 with a bang! The kids have settled back into their routines and are already diving into new learning adventures.

This term, we've started fresh units across all our key learning areas.  It’s been amazing to see how eager the students are to explore new ideas, whether they're tackling math challenges, getting lost in a good book, or exploring the past and present of the Olympics in History.  The students are really enjoying learning about the origins of the Games and how they’ve evolved over time.  It’s been amazing to see how engaged they are as they connect the stories of ancient and modern Olympians.

In our English Unit this term, students have been learning how cultures and traditions are represented in texts.  They read Drawn Together by Minh Lê and Born to Run by Cathy Freeman, both of which depict significant people from various cultures and backgrounds. Through these stories, the students explored how cultural representations can be shared through creative visual features.  They also reflected on their own experiences by writing a paragraph about achieving a personal goal and used techniques from ‘7 steps to Writing’.

On top of all that, we’ve been having a blast with our gymnastics each week. The kids have shown great energy and teamwork, and it’s been wonderful to watch them practicing new skills  and staying active.

Below is a collection of photos and writing.
