Winter/Summer Uniform Transition

Traditionally, the last two weeks of Term 3 and the first two weeks of Term 4 have been a transition time from winter to summer uniform, with students deciding which uniform they would like to wear, not mixing and matching summer and winter uniforms. However, it would appear that Spring has arrived early, and it is unseasonably warm for this time of year. Consequently, we have decided to bring the transition period forward commencing this week. So, we will have a uniform transition period until the end of Term 3, with all students in full summer uniform from the start of Term 4.

We have notified Alinta of this change so that they can have appropriate stock ready.

Inclusion and Diversity

We boast in our Vision statement that we are an “inclusive community, grounded in service and integrity” and we try to instil in our students that we are all people of God. There are no reasons or excuses for discrimination of any kind, and I would hope that if any student experiences discrimination that they would speak up to either a teacher or their LOWE. Most of our students are fortunate that they have never had to experience any form of exclusion on the grounds of sex, race, colour or religion. Fostering empathy, fairness and kindness is our remedy for ensuring that students are protected.

As a Catholic school, we strive to form individuals to live good lives in this world and contribute to building a just and healthy society. We are communities of welcome, forgiveness, equality and inclusion to live the joy of the Gospels so that we think well, feel well and do good.

HSC Commences

The HSC has officially commenced with the Year 12 Japanese Continuer students completing their speaking examinations last Saturday.  Society and Culture Personal Interest Projects have been submitted, Industrial Technology Timber and Drama projects have been stored for marking. Drama Practical Examiners will be at school on 5 September and Music Examiners on 20 September. Visual Art major works are to be submitted next week on Monday 2 September and will be examined in the coming weeks as well as the Science Extension projects.

Please keep all our Year 12 Students in your thoughts and prayers in the next few months.

Prayer

Spirit of the Living God, bless the work of our students’ hands, minds and hearts.

May the work offered be a reflection of all that is good within them.

In planning, creating, doing…grant them the courage to patiently listen for the stirring of your presence.

Grace them with joyful moments in the midst of daily study routines. Enliven their spirits with humour.

Fill them with reverence for one another and gratitude for diversity.

Nourish their spirit and help them focus on the work they need to do and not be easily distracted.

May their greatest passion be compassion, their greatest strength love and their greatest victory the reward of peace that they have done their best.

Amen
