External Validation

Every 4 years all schools within the NSW Department of Education complete the external (EV) validation process.

The external validation process supports excellence in NSW public schools. School improvement is grounded in rigorous self-assessment and analysis of the school's current situation with respect to student outcomes and teaching and leadership practices.

Our last EV was in 2018, and on 27 August our school completed the 2024 EV, and the validation process resulted in excellent results for St Johns Park Public School.

The School Excellence Framework places schools on a scale of:

1. Working towards delivering

2. Delivering

3. Sustaining and growing, and

4. Excelling.

I am pleased to announce that our school was validated at 'Excelling' across all 14 elements of the framework. We now look forward to planning for our next cycle and continuing to excel and grow into 2025 and beyond.

Thank you to the whole staff and our wonderful students and community at SJPPS, for their support of our incredible school.

Book Fair

Thank you to all the students and their families for supporting the Book Fair. Thank you to the staff for helping our teacher/librarians with the sales during lunchtime and after school. As mentioned in the previous newsletter, the sales of books and other items results in our school receiving a portion of the profits to buy resources for our library.

P&C Fundraising

The P&C will be having a 'spare change' challenge in Weeks 9 and 10. Any spare change will be collected each day. Please see the P&C page of this newsletter for more details.

Thank you to the P&C for their fundraising throughout the year. Last week (Week 7) they distributed the student prizes from the Colour Run. It was a mammoth effort organising the prizes and making sure that students received what they had ordered. Thank you P&C for everything you do for our students!

Quote for Week 8

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
