Hello Parents/Guardians and Community Members,

Our Year 12 students are coming to their final few weeks of their schooling journey and students are starting to think of life beyond school and what next for them. We have students who are already thinking of post school employment, students who are looking at TAFE courses and for those who aspire to undertake university study, have applied for early entry and are starting to receive their offers. I remind all of year 12, that they can come and see me for any support they may need as they transition to post school life.

TAFE YES Metals Program:

As our TAFE YES program continues up at Narrandera TAFE CRC with the Metal Fabrication group, we have seen our students’ skills and confidence grow in the Metals industry. The finished projects look amazing. On the final day and conclusion of this program, (Friday 20th September), we will be taking our students on a tour of two of our local employers, Manildra Flour Mill and Hutchins Bros Engineering. This fantastic opportunity was initiated by Rebekah Beer of Hutchins Bros Engineering and the connections our TAFE Teacher Mr Craig Curry has with Manildra Group and will allow our students to see how their skills can lead to employment opportunities in our local region.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all parties for coming together to provide such a rich learning experience for our students. Thank you to Fee Smith of Narrandera TAFE, Narrandera Shire Council (loan of the generator), Rebekah Beer of Hutchins Bros Engineering, Craig Curry our TAFE Teacher, Manildra Group and our Narrandera High School staff Brett Ireland and Grant Napier for all your support of this fantastic program.

Narrandera Shire Council & Narrandera TAFE Partnership Providing Workplace Training Courses to Year 12 Students – First Aid, RSA, RCG, & Barista Training:

Thank you to Narrandera Shire Council’s Suz Litchfield in partnership with TAFE Narrandera’s Fee Smith, our Year 12 students have now undertaken and successfully completed their First Aid Certificate at TAFE Narrandera on the 4th or 10th of September.

Next term we have the second round of subsidised employment training on offer; RSA, RCG and Barista Courses which are scheduled for the 11th, 12th and 13th of November. We thank the generosity of the Narrandera Shire Council as well as Fee Smith of Narrandera TAFE for their tireless support of the youth of Narrandera in providing these opportunities to our soon to be graduating class, so that they can gain essential workplace training as they transition to post school employment.
