Level 1

It’s been a fun fortnight, filled with lots of fun and exciting new skills being learnt.

We started off the week with Book week, look at some of our awesome costumes!

Literacy

In our reading lessons, we have been unpacking a range of inferring text types including Pixar videos, books and pictures. Students have used these texts to explore what they already know and to learn about new information.

During writing, the students have loved being able to turn into creative writers and create different stories based on a picture prompt. They have learnt about including a range of language, including adjectives, verbs and nouns to engage their reader. We have been able to help give ideas to our peer’s characters to bump up their ideas with the use of sticky notes.

Numeracy

Students have been practicing and exploring the value of numbers and have been learning about multiplication through hands on activities and mini games. We have been playing lots of games including Array wars that allow us to be greedy and claim our own land.

Tennis

We are fortunate enough to have some experts to teach us some skills in tennis. Instead of using tennis balls, we were trying to catch bean bags and not let them drop. We played a range of different running races using tennis rackets and tennis balls. It was loads of fun!
