In Foundation...

We loved celebrating book week! On Tuesday 20th August we dressed up as a character from a story. We showed the school our costumes at assembly and participated in lots of literacy-based activities throughout the day. We even got to meet a real author and ask her questions!

In Maths, we have worked in teams to make our very own ‘shops’. Students worked hard to create items to ‘sell’ in their shop. We also made a sign to show what our shop was selling. We cut out money and learnt about when to give change.  We then practised our teamwork skills when our shops were open. One member of the team had to ensure they remained at the shop in case customers came, while the others went ‘shopping’ and bought items at each other’s shops!

In Inquiry, we are learning about different places within our own and other communities. Soon we will be put in small groups to create our very own community. We need to decide what places will be needed, what it will be called and what it will look like. Thank you to all the parents who have donated boxes to make these communities, we are so excited to begin making the town during the Father’s Day open morning next week!
