As we reach the midpoint of Term 3, we have been busy in and out of the classroom. We are practising for the musical, making products for the market stall and getting ready for camp

After a couple of problems last year, we would like to emphasise that you please do not send any lollies or additional snacks with your child to camp. This unfortunately led to some exclusion-like behaviour and theft last year, so we would please ask that you help us avoid this happening again. Some sweet treats and rewards will be provided by staff during the camp.
We also ask that you please not pack new clothes or make-up for your child. We unfortunately had a number of expensive clothing items destroyed over the course of the 5 days by mud and damp and expensive make-ups being damaged in bags and leaking. A small bottle of moisturiser is of course fine if your child needs it, but we ask that no cosmetic make-ups be brought. Any lollies or make-up found or reported will be confiscated and returned (or eaten) on return to school.

Student Report:
Hi, my name is Riley and I’m a leader in sport and my name is Scarlett and I'm a leader in art.
This week in literacy we have been reading a narrative and free verse poem titled Bindi, we have been learning about the structure of the poem and figuring out how to make our own poem. A free verse poem is a poem that doesn't have a specific structure or amount of words or lines. While a narrative poem is in the form of a story.
This term in inquiry we have been learning about cyber safety, and figuring out how to stay safe online as kids. Yesterday the year 5-6s made posters talking about cyber and online safety in a way that the preps, 1/2s and 3/4s would understand, the posters were amazing and we all did so well.

Literacy:
We will be shifting into the creative forms of poetry, with a number of author and style studies as well as plenty of opportunities to create and write their own.
Maths:
In Maths, the students will focus on how and why we use fractions, decimals and percentages, and how these can be used to calculate the values of whole numbers or how stores use these to put items on sale.
