Dear Parents, families, and students
As I write this the Paralympics has just come to a close in Paris. It truly was quite inspiring to see so many talented athletes competing with such skill and determination. I was particularly in awe of the high jumper, long jumper and 100m runner Ezra Frech from the United States of America. He has adapted and overcome challenges to be able to jump 1.97m with only one leg. His determination and adaptability came through and after watching a few interviews with him his persistence and perseverance was evident as to being a big part of his success. Incredibly inspiring and a true champion. Certainly an inspiration for anyone looking to "do better, be better".
With only a bit over 2 weeks left of Term 3 left the students are demonstrating some shorter fuses than normal and less tolerance for one another. It is always a bit of a hard slog, Term 3 however we are nearly at the end and nearing a couple of weeks well earned break. We all need to work together for a strong finish and keep those cogs turning right up to the last day! This will also mark beginning of the last term of primary school for Chaise when we return for Term 4. An exciting time for him ahead. We look forward to a Term 4 where everyone speaks kindly to one another and remembers to treat others as they would like to be treated.
It has been lovely to have some spring weather upon us making recess and lunch much more active. Playground duty is somewhat enjoyable when the sun makes an appearance. The longer days are also very welcome with a few more daylight hours to fit a little more into the days.
A couple of weeks ago it was also the week in which we recognise the support staff of our school. It is a hard to express just how much I personally appreciate the support staff at our school because they are not only great at their jobs and help to support, educate and care for your children so well, but they are great humans! We have a great team here and I am grateful for that every week!! Thank you Mrs Wall, Mrs Hunt, Mrs Higgins, Miss Dunn, Pete, Aaron and Eileen.
Thank you too P&C for all that you do for the school, it is great to have such support from the families and community. I'm still sad I didn't win the wood raffle though.
I am of course very happy to have taken delivery of our new school bus - it even has that new vehicle smell. It was a little touch and go there as to whether we were going to be allowed to go through with the purchase so thank goodness we were pushed across the line and now we have a bus we can take on excursions. Ironically our numbers are steadily growing and we won't be able to fit everyone on the bus next year but it will still help immensely with transporting the children.
Wishing you all a lovely break and look forward to hearing about the holidays in Term 4.
Kind regards,
Hannah Crawford
