Reading: Aim to read for 15 minutes per night.
Inquiry: Share with your family your significant feature that you have constructed. Discuss its social and cultural significance, as well as any challenges you faced during its creation.
Mathematics: Continue to revise your multiplication facts.
You may like to use your timetables app on your iPad for this.
Year 3: 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 10s
Year 4: all facts - start with those that you are least confident with.
You can also create flash cards with unknown facts to practice with.

Literacy:
Spelling: This week, Year 3 students are focusing on the 'ar' sound, as in "car" and "star." Year 4 students are concentrating on the suffix 'ery,' which appears in words like "bakery" and "cutlery."
You might like to write out your spelling words for additional practice:

Writer’s Workshop:Students will be writing a persuasive text to persuade others to visit their significant feature. They will be asked to reflect on the social and cultural significance of their significant feature. They will also justify the ‘real world’ materials that they would have used if creating it for the public (eg: why would they use concrete, wood, copper etc).
Reader’s Workshop: We will continue to focus on stamina in reading and begin exploring non-fiction texts as part of our new unit of inquiry.
Mathematics: We will start exploring fractions and decimals on a number line
Unit of Inquiry: We are about to commence our new unit of inquiry, which focuses on exploring systems of classification. As part of this unit, we will be examining life cycles. If you have expertise in this area and would like to share your knowledge with us, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Celebration of Learning:
We are excited to invite you to our Celebration of Learning on Wednesday, September 11th, at 6:00 PM. Join us for an evening dedicated to showcasing the incredible work students have accomplished during this unit of inquiry. The event will start with a presentation at 6:00 PM and will conclude at 7:00 PM.
We warmly welcome all parents and caregivers to attend.

Special Persons Afternoon –Please note that the date has changed for Special Person’s Afternoon (SPA). It will now be Friday the 20th September (Week 9, Friday).
Teachers on leave -
Mrs Richardson will be on long service leave from Tuesday the 27th of August- Thursday the 12th September. Mrs Fielke will be taking the class on Fridays and Mrs Bishop (our Japanese teacher) will be taking the class on Thursdays.

Enrolment Update: A message from Endeavor College
Year 7 2027
We are about to commence our Year 7, 2027 enrolment process. A friendly reminder to all Endeavour College families, if you have a child in Year 4 at primary school, please ensure that you have submitted an enrolment application in our new system.
We ask that all sibling enrolment applications are completed by the 27 September 2024.
