St. Roch’s Creativity on Display at the Melbourne Royal Show
As part of the 2025 Schools and Youth Art Competition at the Melbourne Royal Show, three of our talented students had the chance to showcase their creativity to a wider audience. Their selected artworks received outstanding feedback, with two earning special commendations - an achievement that brought immense pride to our entire school community.
We are incredibly proud of all our students, whose creativity, courage, and care are evident in every brushstroke, sketch, and idea. It’s a true joy to see their artistic visions come to life!
A heartfelt congratulations to Grace Burke, Kimmy Cheng (Very Highly Commended), and Katherine Lang (Highly Commended) on their well-deserved recognition.
While three pieces were chosen for submission, we celebrate the imagination, dedication, and artistic spirit of every student at St Roch’s Primary School. Each artwork created this year reflects their unique voice, growing confidence, and heartfelt passion for creative expression.
Foundation Students Explore Form and Shape Through 3D Art
Our Foundation students have been busy developing their creativity and fine motor skills through a fun and hands-on paper sculpture and 3D construction unit. As part of their learning in Visual Arts, they’ve been exploring the concepts of form and shape—cutting, folding, rolling, and connecting paper to build imaginative three-dimensional creations.
These activities not only support artistic expression but also help strengthen hand-eye coordination and dexterity. It has been wonderful to see our youngest learners experimenting with materials and proudly bringing their ideas to life in new and exciting ways!
