Based on Matthew 11: 28-30 and used in Senior School Chapel:
Loving God,
We come before you just as we are. Some of us tired, some stressed, some excited, and some unsure of what’s next. Thank you that in Jesus, you invite us to come to you when we are weary and burdened, and that you promise rest for our souls.
As we reach this point in the year, with exams, assignments, and busy schedules, help us to find our rest in you. Teach us what it means to slow down, to breathe deeply, and to trust that we don’t have to carry everything on our own. Remind us that your “yoke is easy” and your “burden is light” because you walk alongside us; not demanding perfection but offering grace.
We pray for our students, especially our Year 12’s, that they may find peace in the middle of pressure and joy in knowing they are more than their results.
We pray for our teachers and staff, that they may find strength and encouragement in their work and rest in their hearts. And for families, that homes would be places of patience, laughter, and support in this busy time.
Lord, help us to find balance and consistency, to work hard, but also to pause; to care for others, but also to care for ourselves. May we learn to rest in your love, knowing that we are held, known, and enough in your eyes.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
