Building Belonging from Day One at Balambalam Primary School
Welcome to the first edition of the Balambalam Buzz! We understand that there are lots of questions so we hope this newsletter provides some responses for you. Don't forget to follow our social media pages and ensure you have booked in for your family 1:1 interview (link on enrolment info page).
We will continue to send out an update each month in the lead up to our opening on January 29th 2026 so also support transition and begin to create our community.
Opening a new school doesn’t happen every day—it’s a rare and exciting opportunity. At Balambalam Primary School, we’re not just setting up classrooms; we’re creating a community where every student, every family, and every staff member is truly seen, supported, and successful.
Our motto—Seen. Supported. Successful.—isn’t just words on a page. It’s a promise. We want every member of our community to feel noticed for who they are, to know there’s someone cheering them on, and to believe in their ability to do amazing things.
Our four TRUE core values—Tenacity, Relationships, Unity, and Excellence—are the heartbeat of our school culture:
- Tenacity: We cheer students on to keep trying, to see mistakes as learning, and to grow with each challenge.
- Relationships: We make time for real connections, value kindness and care for each other.
- Unity: We celebrate together, stand together, and support each other.
Excellence: We help students uncover their strengths and set goals that matter to them, so they can be the best version of themselves.
At Balambalam, belonging doesn’t mean fitting a mould or blending in—it means having a place just as you are. We want our community to feel proud of their stories, their backgrounds, and their differences, knowing that those differences are celebrated and valued.
And it’s often the little things that build that sense of belonging: greeting every student by name, taking time to listen to families, and creating routines that feel safe and inclusive. We’ll encourage students to speak up, celebrate each other’s wins, and lend support when times are tough.
We know from research—and from experience—that when people feel they belong, they’re more engaged, more resilient, and more ready to learn. That’s the kind of environment we’re building at BPS.
As we look ahead to opening our doors in 2026, we are so glad that your family is part of this journey—helping us create a school where belonging is real, and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Warm regards,
