Dear HPCS Community,

Our last newsletter of the year.

End of the year!

At the start of the year I shared our theme “Walk Together” and as I think back on the year, I think as a community we have really nailed it.

Our students have inspired us and learnt new things, grown and at the same time we have had an amazing spirit of unity and togetherness that has shaped our student body and community. Throughout 2025, students encouraged one another, stepped into challenges, supported their peers, and embraced opportunities with a spirit that has shaped our culture in a beautiful way.

One of the things I mentioned in my speech at Presentation Day was how strongly our students have embraced the idea of “having a go”. So much so, I would say it is our new unofficial motto at HPCS, that we “Have a go.” This year, it has been a joy to witness the way our students have given every opportunity their best: whether it is learning in classrooms, carnivals, music events, chapels, excursions and everything in between, I have seen remarkable effort from our students. I am incredibly proud of every child.

Parents, I want you to hear this: Your children are awesome and we are so thankful for every single student at our school.

I also want to take a moment to wish our Year 6 students well as they graduate and step into high school. It has been amazing to watch them develop over the past seven years, the learning, the challenges, the friendships, the laughter, and the growth that has shaped who they are today. They each carry unique personalities, strengths, and stories.

As you move on, I pray that you remember the lessons you have learnt, the joy that you have had, the friendships you have formed and that you will always be part of HPCS. You all share a bond that cannot be broken and a shared experience with each other that ties you together. We are proud of you, and we send you off with our prayers and best wishes knowing that God has great things in store for you. You are always welcome at HPCS.

Three other important things

  • Your child’s school report will be emailed out over the next few days. If you have not received it by Tuesday, please contact the school office. Because the reports are distributed through our student management system, they are sent at staggered times, so it is completely normal for families, or even siblings within the same family, to receive them at different times. Each year we have families contact us thinking they have not received their report, only to discover it in their Junk or Spam folders. Please keep this in mind and check those folders if it has not appeared in your inbox.
  • Photo galleries from Presentation Day and the Year 6 Graduation will be emailed to you early next week.
  • As I mentioned recently, the school site will look a little different when we return in the new year. We will send out further communication before school begins with details about classroom locations and how movement around the school will operate for the start of next year.

Outside of being a follower of Jesus, Husband and Dad, it is the greatest privilege of my life to be blessed with the task of leading our school community. Thank you always, for your support of myself and the staff.

See you next year.

May God bless you.
