Across Weeks 7 and 8, students put their creativity and hand-eye coordination to the test as they explored basic woodworking skills to build their very own mini billy carts. Equipped with safety gear and guided instruction, they carefully cut, hammered and assembled wooden pieces using tools such as hammers, pliers and nails.

Throughout the workshop, students deepened their understanding of scientific concepts including push and pull forces, speed, mass and momentum. They applied these ideas in a practical way by constructing billy carts with real mechanical function - blending creativity with problem-solving and engineering skills.

The incursion was a memorable experience for all, with students thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to build, experiment and learn through hands-on exploration.
