Art Space

Hi All,

Welcome back to another wonderful term in the Arts. We have organised some exciting activities in both visual and performing arts for our Mill Park Heights PS students.

Early in this term we are focusing on: 

Foundation - Year 2: A 'Spring' theme based on drawing and developing multi media skills. In the Performing Arts (Media Art) a focus on how to create clear still photography. 

Year 3 & 4 - Students are learning how to play the xylophone, sing songs and research an instrument (Year 3) or music performer (Year 4) of their choice.

Year 5 - We are making Tea Light Holders. Students will be using techniques such as rolling a slab, creating a pinch pot, joining, etching, under glazing and gloss glazing. Students are encouraged to bring their Art Smock or an Old Shirt to Art for the next 3 weeks.

Year 6 - Students will spend the first 3 - 4 weeks learning the Japanese textile technique called Kumihimo.
