PE News

Last week Mano had 2 representative teams compete in the Divisional round for Boys/Mixed Cricket and the Girls Volleyball competition. Yesterday our cricket team did a SUPER job in crazy conditions with Mr Beck winning all their matches by an average of 50 runs and progressing through to the Regional Finals in November- tremendous effort team!
On the Friday Ms Schuster took out 10 keen and enthusiastic girls to play against the best Volleyball teams in Geelong. Our girls have been training weekly and shown great improvement in a sport that isn't too common to them. With some super close matches against some top teams unfortunately could not get enough wins to progress to the next round but had an awesome day out learning new skills and rules within the game. Thanks to the staff and parents who supported on the day, the students love having you out there!
Next Tuesday we have 5 students attending the Regional Athletics Championships.
Ivy Gercovich for Shot-put
Preston Davys for 800 Metres
Elliot Woollard for Discus
Sienna Willams for Triple Jump
Evan Uebergang for 200M
These 5 will compete against the best in our Region from Melbourne and we wish them all the best next week!
PIP AT THE PLATE
Late last term our very own Pippa Richmond got selected into the girls Softball Team Victoria squad. Mano is super proud of your efforts and is a testament to your dedication, training and interest in softball. Pip had only started playing last year for Mano and has been under some great coaching from the softball guru himself Mr Urquhart in which her game improved incredibly helping both tee-ball and softball team to Regional and State Final wins. Well done Pip on making Team Vic, hopefully you will inspire others to get involved with softball and tee-ball.
Softball Geelong Training
On Tuesday, the Mano Softball teams were lucky to have David Addlem from Softball Geelong come to run a training session for both teams as they prepare for the Regional Finals in a couple of weeks.
The players (and coach) got some handy tips on the skills and strategies needed to take our game to the next level!
We thank David for giving up his time and look forward to competing against the best teams in the Western Metropolitan Region
