During the school holidays, the feast day of our school's patron saint, St Therese of Lisieux was celebrated. Consequently, we will celebrate this special feast day this Friday 10th October commencing our day with a St Therese Liturgy led by the Mini Vinnies. Please join us in the hall for this celebration at 9:05am.
Throughout the day, students will participate in activities for the feast day and they will also receive an icy pole at lunchtime.
Our patron saint is also known as 'The Little Flower' with a spirituality of her 'little way' which has transformed the faith of so many people, increasing their trust in God. The lyrics of a hymn dedicated to her is often sung by our students and truly encapsulates everything that she was and we strive to be.
The month of October is a holy one for various reasons. It is the month of the Rosary and as such, I invite you to join me, staff and students in the Chapel on available mornings to pray the Rosary.
I also alert you to some recent information that I have received:
The Pope’s Prayer Intention for October was released last week. The theme for this month is ‘For Collaboration Between Different Religious Traditions.’ Pope Leo XIV invites us to pray "that believers in different religious traditions might work together to defend and promote peace, justice and human fraternity."
At a time marked by conflicts, the Holy Father recalls that religions must be "bridges and prophecy," and not "weapons or walls." His October prayer intention arrives as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the Declaration from the Vatican II Council that transformed the Catholic Church's relationships with other religions, opening the path to dialogue and collaboration. In a fractured world, the Pope encourages us to be "yeast of unity," open to recognize that we are "brothers and sisters, called to live, pray, work, and dream together."
On October 4, 2025, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Leo XIV signed his first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi Te, which means "I Have Loved You". The document is expected to focus on poverty and the poor and will be presented on Thursday, 9 October, at 11:30 at the Holy See Press Office before being released.

Andrew Chinn is a well known religious musician, composer and singer who will be coming to our school to work with the students to develop a mini musical concert to which you are invited to attend.
It is scheduled on Thursday 16th October 2025 at 2:20p.m in the school hall.
His skill and talent plays a big part in engaging the students to sing along and perform.
All our students will be attending workshops throughout the course of the day which will culminate in a Whole School Concert at the end of the day at the above mentioned time. If past experiences are anything to go by, I know the students will have a fabulous time!
We hope to see you there.

October is historically the time for our Mini Vinnies to promote SOCKTOBER - a fundraising opportunity led by Catholic Mission. It's during this time students learn about the Pope's international agency in Australia and how we can contribute to this great cause. The agency works with communities to support local projects in education, healthcare and spiritual care.
Socktober invites Australian students to engage in 'Faith in Action' to support children in need. At the heart of the program is the sockball, made from recycled materials, which symbolises the real and often difficult challenges many children face each day. It's a simple yet effective way for students to connect with the experience of others and make a meaningful impact.
The students create this sockball in their classes and then we have a school 'kickoff'. Students are also encouraged to wear unusual socks and bring along a gold coin donation for the fundraiser on the day.

Stay courageous & hopeful.
