This term in J07...

... we have been exploring Reader’s Theatre to build confidence and expression when performing to an audience. Students have been practising reading scripts with a partner, focusing on using their voice to bring characters to life — changing their tone, pace and volume to suit the story. 

Together, they rehearse and then perform their short plays for the class, developing both their reading fluency and their ability to deliver spoken texts clearly and confidently. Our audience members play an important role too, showing excellent active listening skills as they follow along, respond thoughtfully, and cheer on their classmates. 

It has been wonderful to see students grow as expressive readers and respectful listeners!
