Easter & First Eucharist

A message of joy for Term 2! The joy of Easter and the joy of celebrating First Eucharist.

We began the term with our Easter Liturgy - led by our School Captains and Faith Leaders. We are trully blessed to have such capable young people as our schoole leaders, who lead by action as well as word.

Our First Eucharist candidates from Year 4 were presented to the parish community at the Saturday night Parish Mass (7pm) last week. They committed to preparing well, learning and praying and reflecting on the Sacrament of the Eucharist as they prepare for the next step on their faith journey. Please remember them and their families in your prayers.

The important dates for First Eucharist are:

  • Wednesday 8th May - Eucharist Family Workshop at 7pm in the COHR Hall
  • Monday 20th May - Eucharist Reflection Day (Operoo will be sent out)
  • Sunday 23rd June - First Eucharist - 3pm

Easter is not a day, it is a season, lasting 50 days until Pentecost Sunday. Some of our families are still waiting for Easter, as the Orthodox Easter will be celebrated next weekend, Sunday 5th May. May your celebrations be full of joy, family and friends.

I leave you with Our Easter Prayer.

Our Easter Prayer

Alleluia! Alleluia!

God made you and God made me,

He made the world for us to see.

God loves you and long ago,

He sent his Son to tell us so.

Jesus showed us many things,

To love and share and dance and sing.

To learn and pray, to help and care,

He promised he’d always be there.

He died but then came back to life,

Let's celebrate for he’s alive!

Alleluia! Alleluia!
