Principal's message

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe that we are in the last week of Term 1!

Term 1 is always a busy and important term as we establish new classes, relationships and routines. This year we have started to implement the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program. The program has provided a scaffold for the development of our whole school expectations and revised school values. During the term we have taught a number of procedures to ensure that students know and understand what is expected of them. Students have been taught the assembly procedure and toilet procedure. By teaching and practicing each of these procedures, our expectations become known and understood which creates certainty and routine for our students.

Our revised school values are:

At 9:15am on Friday morning 12 April, we are having an assembly to acknowledge our commitment to Harmony Day. Whilst the official day was 21 March, classes engaged in learning about the meaning of Harmony Day and celebrating our diverse community from 18 - 22 March. The assembly will enable some of our classes to share their learning.

We encourage all students and their families to dress in traditional cultural dress or orange clothing.  If families don't have either of these, students are expected to wear school uniform.

The assembly will also provide us with the opportunity to acknowledge the students who are exiting from our Intensive English Language Classes and will attend their local school in Term 2.  We wish these students and their families every success as they move schools.

We wish our students a relaxing and safe school holiday. For families that need care during the holidays, the OSHC service is providing holiday care. Please see the OSHC page for program details.

If hope that you are all able to spend some time with your children over the holidays. If you are going away, please travel safely.

We look forward to seeing you all for the start of Term 2 on Monday 29 April.

Kind regards,

Terena Pope
