Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams

National Simultaneous Storytime.

National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. On Wednesday we joined 2 341490 children in over 21000 locations to read Bowerbird Blues. This book is written and illustrated by Aura Parker.

This is a beautiful and vibrant book about a male bowerbird who is looking and searching for all things blue. However, he is missing something really important. His mate. There is so much detail in the drawings and the children have loved searching for the blue items in the book.

Over the next week we will be researching why male bowerbirds collect blue and other interesting facts.

I loved this book and the children did too. Hopefully one day soon you will see it come home in their library bag.

Please encourage your child to return and borrow each week. There are books that are overdue and need to be returned. We love to see your child borrow each week.

Thank you
