Welcome back to term two! 

I hope you all had a restful break and leant into the leisurely schedule. 

Students will be taking home their work from term 1 this week. It would be great to host some conversations with your child about the processes that went into producing their incredible artworks. 

Grade 5/6 student work is attached, with their interpretation of their own homes in the artistic style of Australian artist Howard Arkley- I am absolutely blown away by their achievements. 

This term we are delving into tactility and exploring clay as a medium and art form. Beginning with clay theory, we will be learning the cultural and historical significance of clay, as well as the way it is used today by artists. Clay sculpting techniques will be refined over the next few weeks to ensure each student will create a complete clay artwork.
