Principal’s Message

Mrs Claire Ryan

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 9's Newsletter.

This week marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent, starting on Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter (March 24th). Holy Week is a time in which we gather to remember and participate in the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Passion was the final period of Christ's life in Jerusalem, which spans from when He arrived in Jerusalem to when He was crucified.

May God bless each of you during this special time in the Church's calendar. I hope you have a holy Easter, united in prayer, hope, and love. Enjoy spending time over the long weekend with your loved ones.

Please attend our Holy Week Liturgy on Wednesday, March 27th, at 12:30pm. Further details are in the RE News section of this newsletter.

PUPIL FREE DAY - THURSDAY 28TH MARCH

This is a reminder that we have a Staff Development Day scheduled for this Thursday, March 28th. Students will not attend school on this day. Staff will work with consultant Rod Whelan to develop their understanding of the Living Well Learning Well Framework.

NAPLAN 2024

The Year 3 and Year 5 students completed their NAPLAN assessments last week. We are proud of every child's positive attitude toward each assessment. Now, we await the results, which will enable us to determine the most effective next steps for teaching and learning aligned with other assessments being completed in the classroom.

CONGRATULATIONS MISS LANGFIELD

I want to congratulate Miss Tara Langfield on attaining a level of Proficiency with her NESA Teacher Accreditation.

Tara achieved this by developing her practice throughout her daily work in school and engaging in professional activities across the three domains of teaching:

  • Professional Knowledge
  • Professional Practice
  • Professional Engagement

The process of becoming a Proficient Teacher helps teachers develop their teaching practice according to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Congratulations, Tara. We are proud of your achievement and are grateful to have you as a valued staff member at our school.
