Last Thursday we held a very successful school Cross Country Carnival. We were very fortunate that the weather was in our favour and it was ideal conditions for the runners. Overall, the students performed well with the Top 8 runners from each age group being selected to compete at the Diocesan Cross Country on Thursday, 9 May at Glenbawn Dam.

Cochrane Cup

The Under 14’s Boys Rugby League team had a very successful day at the first round of the Cochrane Cup in Aberglasslyn. The boys started the day strong with a good win against St Pius 22-0. They continued their strong performance in their next round game with a big win again St Bede’s 32-0. These great results earnt them a spot in the semifinals against the consistently strong All Saints. The boys came out very strong, scoring the first two tries giving them a good lead into half time. All Saints fought back with one try early in the second half. The boys didn’t drop their heads however, and bounced back with a try to secure their win 14-6. The boys will be heading to Cessnock early next term for the Cochrane Cup Grand Final. We wish the boys good luck for this big game.

A special thanks to Andrew Brown and Adam Thrift for coaching the boys and donating their time and expertise.

NSWCCC Touch Football

Lewis was a member of the Diocesan U15 team who made the NSWCCC U15 Touch Football Final narrowly losing to the Parramatta Diocese 3-2. Congratulations to both students on being selected in the Diocesan teams.
