Netball

Last week on Tuesday 12th March, it was the Year 7 & 8 SSP Netball Player Athletes’ turn to attend a day camp down at Camp Wilkin in Anglesea. They started the day with the High Ropes Course where they challenged themselves both physically and mentally. The Netball Athletes then worked together through various camp initiative games. Here they were given an open ended physical task and had to work collaboratively to get to an end outcome of which there were many possible processes. Some great takeaways from these activities involved listening to one another, being patient, being willing to understand and be open to teammates ideas and cooperation. We finished the day with lunch and a walk in the water for some at Anglesea beach. It was a great chance for the group to bond and learn off the netball court and outside of the classroom.

Back at school we have been working on attacking systems and set plays both on court and in our education sessions. Our SSP Information night was held on Wednesday 20th March, and it was lovely to meet many new and prospective families to the program.

As we head towards the end of Term 1, we’d like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Easter and a restful break and look forward to seeing all our athletes back and refreshed ready for a big Term 2.
