AROUND THE COLLEGE

TERM 1

Barwon Division Swimming

On Friday 1st of March, 18 of our best swimmers went down to Kardinia Pool to compete in the Division Swimming Carnival. Although we didn’t come away with a podium finish in the overall aggregate, we did finish 10th overall. This is a fantastic effort considering our number of swimmers that were competing on the day.

From an individual perspective, we had the following successes:

  • Nelita Pistorius: 1st in 20 Year female 50m Freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m Butterfly
  • Finn Hynes-Carnegie: 1st in 14 year Male 50m Freestyle, 2nd in 50m Backstroke, 3rd in 50m Breaststroke.
  • Kirby Donaldson: 2nd in 16 Year Male 50m Butterfly

A special mention to the student helpers Charlie Trezise and Julian Couch who assisted on the day, with their excellent timekeeping skills.

Dental Van Visit - Week of 29th April

On Monday 29th - Friday 3rd May our school will have the Australian Dental Health Van visit our college community. The school dental health initiative is Australia wide and offers an opportunity for young people in our school from years 7-12 to book in during the course of the week to provide a full dental examination, two small diagnostic X-rays, re-mineralisation of teeth and fissure seals if required at no cost. If your child needs any fillings, you will be contacted.  If you provide further consent - the dental van staff can complete further onsite treatment.

An individual treatment plan can also be written and provided. All students next week will receive a consent form with further information.  You will need a Medicare card to receive the full free treatment. If you do not have a eligible Medicare card, ADHV will do a free Dental Health Screen and tooth strengthening remineralisation.

If your Child has misplaced this form please collect a spare from the front office. (No digital form avaialable).

Return your form to the School office by 17th April.

No late forms will be accepted.

The number of forms returned will determine how many days the van will be on-site to complete dental examinations.
