Camp - Mt Evelyn YMCA

12 more sleeps until we are off to Camp!

Thank you to all families for getting their payments and medical/dietary information to us on time through Compass - it makes organising a million times easier!

We are still waiting on some students to bring back their paper medical form. If you have yet to do this, please return to your classroom teacher ASAP. This form needs to be returned even if your child does not require medication.

The information sheet that was sent home has been uploaded below. Please ensure you are aware of all of the information - student drop off times, what they need to bring, packing lists, etc.

If you have any further questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher or Kate Yates (Camp Coordinator and Year 3 Team Leader).

Parent Teacher Interviews

Information has been sent out regarding booking times to speak with your child's teacher on Compass.

Interviews will be on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th March, from 3.45.

Please ensure that if you book an interview time and would like to speak to your child's teacher through Zoom, that you email them to let them know - all interviews will be assumed in person unless otherwise informed.

Both online and in person interviews are 10 minutes long. If you think you may require longer than this, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Colour Run

We are looking forward to another year of the Colour Run madness on Friday 22nd March! On this day, students are encouraged to wear a white tshirt (old is best!) and shorts/pants that they don't mind getting wet and dirty. They will still need to wear appropriate footwear. They will be given a snazzy headband to wear and some sunnies!

The bar was set super high last year - but the course this year is going to be even bigger and better.

If you haven't organised your fundraising page yet - please refer to Compass on details on how to do this.

Contacting Teachers

A reminder that if you are required to pick your child up from school during the day for any reason, to please email the classroom teacher. This will help us ensure that students are ready at the office with their bags packed.

If your child is going to be away from school for any reason, we ask you put this onto Compass, so we are aware of their absence when completing the roll in the morning.

Late Sign In

We have had a few incidents of parents calling the school at the beginning of the day, saying their child has been marked as absent. It is incredibly important that if your child gets to school after the second bell, then a parent or guardian signs the students in at the office.

The classroom teacher usually does the roll first thing in the morning, so even if your child is only a few minutes late, the teacher will have expected them to be signed in.

If you are worried about your child being marked as absent, or if you are unable to sign them in when you drop them off, please ensure that they arrive at school before the bells (8.55am).

Year 4

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on:

  • Monday 18th March 2024 from 3:45pm
  • Tuesday 19th March 2024 from 3:45pm

If meeting online, you will also need to email your child’s classroom teacher with the date and time that you have booked on Compass and we will email you the zoom link to access when the booking window closes.

Please be aware, that both ‘online’ and ‘in person’ meetings are limited to 10 minutes only, if you any pressing issues that require longer than 10 minutes, please contact your child’s teacher prior to the meeting to make alternate arrangements.

Year 4 Camp

The Year 4 Camp will be taking place from Wednesday 10th of May until Friday 12th of May at Camp Oasis in Mt Evelyn. Payment for the camp is now open on Compass and will close on Friday 19th April.

Please find below a link to the Year 4 camp equipment/clothes list. It is suggested that you have a look at the list in the next week or so to ensure that you have all items on the list. This will give you time over the school holidays to obtain anything that you don't already have.

Colour Run

Friday 22nd March is the day of the now famous Vermont Primary School Colour Run. It is recommended that students wear a white tshirt and shorts/pants. These clothes should be ones that the students don't mind getting wet and dirty. They will still need to wear appropriate footwear. The Colour Run will commence just after 2pm and pParents are more than welcome to come along and watch as the students run around the course in groups.

Shout Outs

Last week, all the Grade 4 students came together to participate in Shout Outs. It's another way to recognise students who are doing the right thing in the class and yard, helping their peers, being respectful or trying their best in lessons!

Well done to the following students on their Shout Outs!
