Early Years News

Pre-K to Year 2

Dear Early Years Families,

As we approach the end of the 2024 school year, the countdown is on, and the busyness continues across the Early Years! Here’s a summary of what has been happening and what’s coming up for our students and families.

2025 Kindy Orientation

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 2025 Kindy students and their families to the College community. It was an exciting day as staff met their new students and shared important information with parents about the exciting new chapter in their children’s lives. The energy and enthusiasm from our new students was fabulous, and we look forward to an amazing year ahead.

Outdoor Classroom Day & World Children’s Day

In a combined celebration of Outdoor Classroom Day and World Children’s Day (UNICEF), our students enjoyed a range of fun, engaging activities across the College. These activities emphasised creativity, teamwork, and the importance of enjoying the outdoors while acknowledging the rights and well-being of children globally.

Primary School Transition Sessions

Our students across the Primary School participated in transition sessions this week, visiting the classrooms they will be in next year. These sessions gave them a sneak peek into the exciting opportunities awaiting them in 2025, helping to ease any anxieties and build anticipation for the new school year.

Salvado’s Got Talent

Next Friday 29 November, our students will take the stage for Salvado’s Got Talent, showcasing their unique skills and talents to the whole Primary School. It’s always a highlight of the year, and we can’t wait to see what our talented students have in store!

Week 9 Highlights

  • PP and Kindy Incursion (Fairy Merry Christmas) – Tuesday 3 December
  • Playgroup Christmas Incursion – Wednesday 4 December
  • Awards Ceremony – Wednesday 4 December: Held after the Thanksgiving Liturgy, this special event celebrates the achievements of our students throughout the year.

A Busy Term for Students and Staff

As the term continues, it’s natural for students to start feeling tired with so many exciting activities happening. A little extra care at home can help them manage this busy time. Meanwhile, teachers are working diligently to finalise reports, analysing data, and writing comments that reflect each child’s progress and achievements over the year.

Thank you for your continued support as we make these final weeks of the school year as memorable and rewarding as possible.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Lisa Ripley

Head of Early Years (Pre-Kindy to Year 2)
