Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers

EXCELLENT SCHOOL RESULTS

I had a very positive meeting with our Senior Education Improvement Leader from the Department last week.

Our results across the entire school for 2024 are very good and are on an Improvement trajectory.

In NAPLAN we were at or above Similar and Network schools in all areas in Year 3 and 5 and above state areas in most Year 5 measures.

Very pleasingly our student attitudes to school and wellbeing audit results were on a very strong improvement cycle.

The teachers and Education support staff who work with your children give them the absolute best opportunity to thrive in engaging and structured school environments.

The work ethic of the students is very strong and we are very proud of them.

CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA THURSDAY 5TH DECEMBER 2024 - 5:30pm

The final practices and preparations are being made by the students and staff for our fantastic Christmas Extravaganza next Thursday night.

Each year we have a huge turn-out of family and friends eager to watch their children perform and to enjoy dinner on the school oval with family and friends.

Don’t forget the monster raffle is drawn at the conclusion of the singing/ performing. If you haven’t already done so it is not too late to buy a ticket.

At this early stage Thursday looks like the pick of the weather and hopefully that doesn’t change.

The school is running a BBQ and drink stall so please visit us as all money at that stall goes directly to our school.

There are other local businesses/ food vans which offer a variety of delicious options.

We can’t wait to see you all there.

GYMNASIUM REFURBISHMENT

We are delighted with the outcome of the refurbishment of the School Gym. The Gym was sadly in need of repairs over a long period of time but it has been completely revamped back to almost brand new.

A new edition is two large screen televisions which are permanent so that they can be used during lessons and other events such as guest presenters and assemblies.

The are fully protected which means that they can remain there permanently. This is a great outcome for our school.

We expect to hold our Monday assembly in the Gym and look forward to our Year 6 Graduation and Final Assemblies being held there.

EMERGENCY DRILL FRIDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2024

We held our fourth and final Emergency Drill for the school year today with an off-site evacuation. The school assembled and walked safely to the Warrnambool Gardens.

GOVEMBER- TARGET CLOSE

We have one day to complete our kilometres in order to reach our challenge target of 14, 000km.

This has been an excellent month of physical activity across our whole school and again we are very proud of everyone who has contributed.

Whether students and staff have chosen to run, walk, cycle, swim or paddle it has been a fantastic effort across the whole school.

Our final totals will be tallied and announced at Monday’s assembly.

POPPY APPEAL

The annual Poppy Appeal is a yearly fundraiser for the RSL in the leadup to Remembrance Day. The Poppy Appeal raises important funds for veterans and their families and allows the RSL to give back to the people who have given so much to us through our service.

Each year our school supports this appeal and we received a than you letter from the Warrnambool RSL. Our school raised an amazing $543.00 which was an outstanding effort. Thank you to everyone who supported this important fundraiser.

OUT OF UNIFORM DAY FUNDRAISER - COLIN MCKENNA BRAIN TUMOR RESEARCH

Today we held an out of uniform day for students with a gold gold donation. We're pleased to let you know that $500 was raised and will be donated to the Colin McKenna legacy for Brain Tumor Research. This is such a worthy cause for a respected and generous man in our community.

Have a great weekend.
