School Council Update for Parents -Tuesday November 12th 2024

School Crossing | A temporary electronic speed sign is currently situated in Webster St. Traffic calming measures will be considered once collection of speed data from the sign is completed. Please note that the sign is only collecting speeds, not number plates. A drop off/pick up zone is being investigated |
Buddy Benches | Colours have been chosen by Student Leaders. Frame- Dark Violet. Seat- Blaze Blue. Back- Mistletoe. Location of benches to be determined. |

Principal | -Feedback School Councillors are available to support parents to provide feedback to the school if needed. -Enrolments –a little less than at this time last year. Two teacher positions are currently advertised. -Wellbeing Coordinator 2025 will be Nicole Lowe. The Wellbeing Coordinator role is to ensure Mental Health programs are appropriate for our school, to connect families and students with services, and to support teachers. This role requires Nicole to be out of the classroom full time. Huge thanks to Danielle Wadley for her work in this role this year. We will also have Cate Burns two days per week as Student Wellbeing Officer and she can do 1:1 sessions with students. -Parent Input Form thanks to parents who provided input by the closing date of Mon 11th November about grade groupings, social needs and learning needs for 2025. Students will also be asked about who helps them to do their best learning. |
Curriculum | -Term 4 assessments, and Maths and Writing marking moderation are currently taking place. -Data Champions, Fluency in Reading and Initial Lit Professional Development continues -Excursions – Twisted Science in Echuca (Gr5/6), Great Stupa and the Chinese Museum (Gr 3/4). Country and Belonging program (Gr 3/4). |
Buildings & Grounds | Roof grant. Meeting held on 18 October between school, architect, Victorian Schools Building Authority and Department of Education & Training. Good progress made towards these works commencing. Working Bee-Let’s tidy up before the Summer Break. We’d love your help. Date to be advised in the newsletter soon. |

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey 2024 | Thanks to all parents who completed this survey. We will report back on our results once we have the State data for comparison. |
