Reports & Parent Teacher Interviews

While the busy assessment period is coming to an end for Year 7-10, our Year 12, 2025 students are engaging in some of their first HSC assessment tasks. Parents will receive Yr 7 - 10 reports Friday of Week 8: 6th of December via Compass. These reports will provide valuable feedback on their efforts and achievements in class this semester. We encourage both students and parents to look at the learning profile for each subject, this reports on: how well students manage their learning, do they enact opportunities to extend their learning and how well they relate to others to enhance their learning. Students should be aiming for generally and consistently in each of these areas. Achieving this level sets up a good foundation for doing their best academically.

On the 17th and 18th of December we will provide time for Parent-Teacher Interviews to take place. Based on parent feedback, we will provide a day for face-to-face on site interviews and the other as a zoom option, hopefully this will provide for more opportunity for families to engage in these interviews. Information in relation to these dates will be sent home via Compass. In preparation for these meetings, we ask that students reflect on their own efforts and achievements this year by reflecting on the following questions:

  • Have I achieved the goals I set at the start of the year?
  • What am I most proud of?
  • What would be an area of growth?

It's important for students to be able to get feedback that will feed-forward that will assist in setting their new goals in 2025. To set themselves up well we encourage students to ask their teachers during parent teacher interviews: What is one thing that I can concentrate on to improve my achievement in this subject and/or writing next year?

It is always important to remember come report time that learning isn’t just about the final grade or achievement, it is also being able to highlight and celebrate the resilience, perseverance, curiosity and wonder that a student displays with their learning and parent teachers interviews are a great opportunity to be able to open dialogue in relation to these attributes. Students should reflect on everything they have accomplished whether big or small. They should be proud of the progress they have made in 2024.

Year 7 2025 Orientation Day

It was a pleasure to welcome our new Year 7 2025 students for their Orientation Day on Tuesday, 19 November. We commend the girls for their enthusiasm and excitement as they embraced this important step in their educational journey.

Thank you to Kim Weaire, the Year 7 Leader of Learning, the Year 7 teaching and Diversity teams and the student leaders who ensured our incoming Year 7 students felt welcomed, supported, and confident throughout the day.

The atmosphere was filled with positivity and excitement as the girls participated in engaging 'taster' mini-lessons and enjoyed creative arts performances, which gave them a glimpse of the diverse opportunities awaiting them.

It was lovely to see the students leaving with smiles and a strong sense of anticipation for the year ahead. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all parents for their support in dropping the girls off and accommodating the early 2 PM pickup.

We hope this memorable start to their journey at Caroline Chisholm has set a strong foundation for a successful and enjoyable 2025 school year.
