Faith and Mission

This year, our Year 9 students had the opportunity to participate in a meaningful program with the Montgomery House Aged Care residents, as part of their Roncalli Service. The initiative is designed to foster connections between younger and older generations through a variety of shared intergenerational activities.

The program has been a heartwarming success, creating a space where students and residents could exchange stories, experiences, and wisdom. One student reflected, 'I really enjoyed being able to connect with the residents and learn about them and their stories.' The relationships built through this program have shown how much both age groups can learn from one another.

Students have spoken of the program as a 'bridge between generations,' helping them appreciate the perspectives and life experiences of their elders while bringing joy and companionship to the residents. This unique initiative has not only enriched the lives of those involved but also reinforced the value of compassion, empathy, and mutual respect.

The Montgomery House Project has become a cherished part of our Roncalli Service program, and we look forward to its continued development in 2025.
