From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 4, Week 8
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
As we head into the last few weeks of Term 4, we have many events that will be taking place.
Behaviour Focus
Our behaviour focus for Week 8 is Respect & Integrity - Telling the truth and accepting consequences. We are successful when:
- Being honest
- Accepting responsibility
- Having Integrity
School Swimming and Water Safety Program
Last Friday our students in K-2 as well as those students in Yrs 3-6 who were invited to join the School Swimming and Water Safety Program held their graduation. Our staff were very proud of all students who participated and displayed our values of Safety, Respect and Readiness to learn. All participants enjoyed Hot Chips as a treat to celebrate their achievement. Well done.
Swimming for Sport Yrs 3-6
Today we held our last session of Swimming for Sport for Yrs 3-6. Thank you to all of our students who again upheld the values of our school and to parents for ensuring your child had their swimming essentials each week. This helps to assist our staff in ensuring they get the best out of the program.
2025 Captains Speeches
This morning we held our 2025 Captain Speeches and it was great to see our parents and community in attendance. This is a great opportunity for our Year 5 students to participate in public speaking. I would just like to say that it was a pleasure listening to four of our Year 5 students state their case on why they should be School Captain in 2025. Our students will vote today on who they would like to represent them, and an announcement will be made at our Presentation Day Assembly next Tuesday, 10th December.
Year 6 High School Orientation Day
Thank you to our Year 6 Parents in ensuring your child attended High School Orientation Day. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to get an introduction into High School Life. We look forward to hearing from Year 6 about their day and their readiness for High School.
Presentation Day 2024
We will be holding our Presentation Day 2024 in the school hall from 9:30am next Tuesday, 10th December to celebrate our students' achievements in 2024. School sports uniform, with white socks, must be worn on this day. Our Year 6 students can wear their Yr 6 Polo shirt on this day. Our school has been practicing a special performance to share, and we invite all of our Parents/Carers and their families and community to come join us.
Christmas Craft Afternoon
Following our Presentation Day we will be holding a Christmas Craft Afternoon from 1:35pm on Tuesday, 10th December. We invite everyone to come along and enjoy the festive season by creating some lovely decorations and Christmas craft with your children.
Year 6 Farewell
Our Year 6 Farewell is next Thursday, 12th December. For those who are attending could you please ensure you indicate and provide payment by tomorrow, 4th December for catering purposes.
Pool Day
We will be holding our Annual Pool Fun Day on Friday, 13th December at Werris Creek Memorial Pool. Our P&C will be providing a Sausage Sizzle for all students to enjoy. Information and permission notes will be sent home shortly.
School Attendance
As we aproach the end of the school year it is imperitave that your child attend school each day up until the last day. School attendance is compulsory for all students between the ages of 6 and 17 years. We understand that in some circumstances it is necessary for your child to be away from school (eg: illness, family emergency, unavoidable travel, medical appointments) however, we require an explanation as to the absence within 7 days of the absence taking place. Your assistance in doing so ensures your child gets the most out of their education, building relationships with others and being a part of our community.
Term 1 2025
In 2025 there will be a change to our School Development Days. As a result, the school year will commence as follows:
31st January to 5th February 2025 - School Development Days - Staff only
6th February - All Students Return - Kinder to Yr 6
10th February - Swimming Carnival 2025
