MERUKA CUP
Last Wednesday, we held our Prep to Year 2 Lapathon, where each House competed for the Meruka Cup.
Students from Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 had 20 minutes to complete as many laps as they could around the Tiger Turf. Whether they chose to walk, jog, or run, every lap helped earn valuable points for their House!
After tallying up all the laps, the final placings for the Meruka Cup were as follows:
4th place: Bunjil - 547 laps
3rd place: Waa - 602 laps
2nd place: Buliyong - 664 laps
1st place: Bulen Bulen - 738 laps
COMMUNITY SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS
Congratulations to Pippa M (2LR) on a fantastic game of cricket, capped off with the North Eltham Wanderers Coaches Award! Pippa earned this award for taking her first wicket and showing great focus and determination while batting.
Well done, Pippa! 💪🏼
If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.

2024 TRIVIA NIGHT WRAP UP
A tidal wave of gratitude is washing over the school in the wake of our 2024 GHPS Trivia Extravaganza. Not only did we unearth Greenhills’ preeminent paper plane pilot, learn some satisfying answers to obscure Bluey trivia, and even indulge in a little dancefloor merriment, we also raised close to $8,000.
Colossal thanks to everyone who attended, helped or donated, in particular:
- Our very own MC and Trivia Master Sam and Scorer Extraordinaire, Natalie.
- All the teachers for coming out to party with the GHPS community on their day off (and for all their help and support in the lead up to the event). James maintaining his title as the greatest coin-toss-at-a-bottle champion.
- Our amazing decorators Prue and Danni.
- Extra helpers, PA, and especially Meiling, who was the friendly face you saw at the door.
- Zac B from Grade 3 for creating our Wheel of Answers.
- Every person at the event who showed up, bought a raffle ticket, spun the wheel, paid their fine when Sam caught them on their phone, threw a gold coin in the bowl to play a game, or cheered on their table.
- And with over $7K of donations and in-kind support received to make this night a success, some of our most enthusiastic appreciation goes to the amazing local businesses in our area - especially St Helena Place(Satterley’s) and Comp Now who gave us the opportunity to silent auction 3 ipads and raffle off another iPad!
Thanks again - look forward to doing it next year.
