REMEMBRANCE DAY IN THE LIBRARY
In honour of Remembrance Day on November 11, the College Resource Library commemorated the occasion with a special display to encourage reflection and learning. The display featured a selection of books that highlight the history and significance of Remembrance Day, as well as informative infographics detailing the stories of those who served. Students and staff were invited to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our service people, with a space set aside for quiet contemplation. This provided time for our school community to pause, remember, and pay tribute to those who have contributed to Australia's history and freedom.
LIBRARY STAFF & STUDENT FEEDBACK
Since the start of Term 4, the library has been conducting fun student and staff feedback opportunities. This includes some interactive activities and taking part in discussions within borrowing sessions. This has been very well received, allowing students to take part in further classroom engagement and participation during their borrowing time. Library staff have been incredibly impressed with the feedback and involvement from both staff and students during this time. It is our hope that this will provide a helpful evaluation of how our college library is performing and ways to manage student learning experiences.
COUNT DOWN TO CHRISTMAS
With Christmas just around the corner, the library is preparing some exciting displays and activities to celebrate the season. This time of year is all about coming together and fostering a sense of community, and we’re eager to spread some Christmas cheer to our students, staff, and wider community. Stay tuned for more details—we can't wait to share what's in store! Christmas Countdown: 6 more weeks to go!
LIBRARY BORROWING SESSIONS
The College Resource Library would like to continue our highlight series, which recognises some fantastic library borrowing classes from time to time. Part two acknowledges 1/2E for their organised and engaged library sessions this term.
BORROWING TIPS
P-2 students must bring either a library bag or tub to their library borrowing session. All students are reminded that they are not to lose or damage library books. This will result in restricted borrowing. All students must bring their library books to every borrowing session. 7-12 students are advised to keep their library books in their locked locker while at school.
Many thanks,
Jen, Karen and Meg.
