The FIRE Carriers Ceremony
We held the FIRE Carriers Ceremony in the hall and the whole school attended, as well as our families and friends. The choir sang the National Anthem, and they sang a Million Dreams and some of the people in choir did a dance performance from Moana. Some Grade 5 students did readings and those people were: Ethan, Milly-Rose, Oliver, Zali, Mitch and Sarah. Then, Mrs. Maher addressed the Grade 6 FIRE Carriers to put their hands near the fire and put their hands near our faces. Each of the new FIRE Carriers got a certificate and then we received our FIRE Carrier Badges. All of the new FIRE Carriers got some photos together with our new badges.

🔥Fire Carrier Ceremony🔥
On Friday the Grade five students became Fire Carriers, and this is how! First, we started heading to the hall at 2:45pm and so did some of our family & friends. All the members of the choir started by doing the Acknowledgement of Country. After Mrs Maher talked about the Aboriginal culture, Ethan talked about when the Early Settlers first arrived in our land. Then Milly-Rose spoke about the ancient culture and the separated families after Milly-Rose talked about the Ancient Culture, Ollie started to tell us about a story about Jesus. Mitch and Sarah finished by speaking about the strong foundations in our school community here at St Kilian’s. The Grade Six students warmed their hands on the flame and put it over our faces and then we got our certificates and badges! Then all the choir sang a Million Dreams and then did a dance from Moana that they performed at Arts on show with Mrs Bourke. Now the Grade students are officially Fire Carriers.
