As we approach the end of another fantastic year at Yarra Road Primary School, the school is excited to share some news about what’s ahead in 2025. Next year, the school will engage an external Department of Education and Training (DET) coach to guide staff in implementing School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS).
SWPBS is a proactive, evidence-based framework that enhances positive behaviour and learning outcomes across the whole school. This initiative will ensure our school environment remains inclusive, safe, and supportive for all students. The coaching will empower our staff to:
Students will benefit from a predictable and engaging school environment, while families will see stronger connections between home and school, supporting each child’s growth and success.
As we look forward to this development, we’re also mindful of the wonderful events coming up to close out 2024. With just three weeks of school remaining, we’re gearing up for a busy finish:

Our whole school Swimming Program will be running from Monday the 2nd of December to Friday the 6th of December at Aquanation in Ringwood. If you would like to come and watch your child, please click the link below to view the timetable to see what time/s your child will be swimming.
Our annual YRPS Christmas Concert will be held on Wednesday the 11th of December from 5pm onwards (6pm start) on our school oval. Familes are welcome to arrive early to secure a spot and enjoy a BYO picnic dinner before the conert begins.
Join us for an evening of festive cheer, as our talented students put on a spectacular Christmas concert! From classic carols to modern holiday hits, our students have been rehearsing to bring you a night full of music, laughter, and holiday spirit!
Our Art Show will also be running on the same night from 5pm until 6pm in the Art room. Be sure to check out the amazing work your children have created before the concert begins!
We currently have a very high demand for second hand uniform, especially sizes 6 and 8. If you have any items that are no longer needed, we would greatly appreciate your donations.
Please ensure that all items are in good, or very good, condition and have been washed before donating.
Donations can be handed into the school office or at the uniform shop when it is open.
