Youth Ambassadors Program sponsored by the Indigo Shire.
Earlier this year, 3 of our committee visited Atauro Island, and we met with the Director of Education to discuss how we could help schools.
The Timor Leste Government allocates US$1.00 per annum per student and so many of the primary schools, especially smaller more remote schools, are very poorly resourced.
Our committee wants to use donations from Indigo Shire schools to help as many primary schools as possible.
We would be very grateful for donations of drawing and writing books, pens, coloured pencils, textas, coloured paper, glue, small & big scissors, rulers, compasses, erasers, balls, multiplication table posters, that individuals and schools no longer have use for.
Timor Leste's official language is Portuguese, with Tetun being the local language. English is only taught in secondary schools.

We support the Find Doctors For Beechworth campaign
Is there a GP in your family or friends’ network? Might they be interested working in Beechworth?
As part of the Find Doctors For Beechworth campaign, Beechworth Surgery is offering a $1000 reward for the community group of your choice if you put them in touch with a doctor who ends up working in our town.
Your role is to ask them if they are interested in working in Beechworth and if they are, please connect them with the Surgery. The Surgery is seeking up to three additional doctors and will support them to move here. That includes migration sponsorship, relocation allowances and any assistance they or their partner and/or family may need.
This is a joint effort because we care about the health of our community and believe everyone should be able to access medical care. https://beechworthsurgery.com.au/find-doctors-for-beechworth/
The prospective doctors can find more information about the Surgery and living in Beechworth and surrounds: https://beechworthsurgery.com.au/work-with-us/
