Principal's Report

Dear families,

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday where we reflect on the works of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We are called by the Holy Spirit to use the gifts we have received of peace and forgiveness and work towards reconciliation through forgiveness of others.

Recently I have been made aware of some disappointing behaviours and language within our student body of a racial and derogatory nature. I have spoken to some of the students involved to clearly explain the values that St Brigid’s upholds. We value and promote respect of self and one another. When students fail to meet these expectations, as teenagers will do, it is our responsibility, as parents and staff, to challenge them and model acceptable language.

The St Brigid’s community is a caring one that promotes diversity and inclusiveness. These are our values. We will maintain zero tolerance of any derogative comments based on race or gender and I thank you for supporting the College’s values. The society our children are entering is rapidly changing and we need to prepare them as best we can.

Have a great weekend,

Gerard Raven
