Principal's News

Mrs Gabrielle Espenschied

Dear Parents,

We thank all in our community who were able to attend the Anzac Day service in Hastings. This is a significant day in our school as we respect, revere and remember our Defence Force families who continue to serve our country today, along with the soldiers who did not return home. Thank you to Lisa Galvin and Saskia Kalkbrenner who supported our students on the day.

Our whole school theme for weeks 3 and 4 is focused on learning through and with others and accepting feedback. There is a focus on our tool kit element of think, feel, act and building emotional regulation.

The faith element this week focuses on using the labyrinth for reflection and meditation. We have a beautiful physical asset in our school for us all to use for grounding and centring our heads, hearts and hands to reflect and be the best we can be.

This Friday is world labyrinth day. Why not come in and try walking the labyrinth this week to see the benefit of this amazing tool in our school!

Please read the slide show below outlining all the important factors and research into why this is just so important in our school.

This week, we highlight the upcoming Mother's Day celebrations. Our mothers and special carers are always looking out for, caring and nurturing every child in their care.

We celebrate their importance in the development of children and we invite all of our community to the special Mother's Day celebrations on Friday 10th May. We will have our Mother's Day Mass commencing at 9.30am in the Church followed by our Mother's Day morning tea in the Parish Activity Centre.

Next Monday night we are holding a cyber safety night. In the current climate of online incidents and the impact social media is having on our students mental health I strongly recommend all parents from Prep to Year 6 attending the night. This can be accessed both by a zoom link found one of the following pages in the newsletter or by coming on site with school staff.

Enrolments are open for 2025. Please promote our wonderful school to everyone in our community. We have our Open Days coming up so please pass the invite on. There are flyers being sent home soon and if you can distribute any flyers in our community, please let us know.

Finally, come along on Friday to our cross country. All students from Prep to Year 6 will be running and we look forward to a great event.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
