We’d like to congratulate our team of 80 strong runners that represented our school this week on Wednesday, in the Dendy District Cross Country event.  As buses arrived at Bald Hill Park at midday there were some definite nerves circulating around our team area.  It’s one thing to run 2 or 3 kilometers at a local park surrounded by your peers, but for many, it’s next-level to face it a week later against around 100 other unknown runners at an unknown venue!  Despite this, every team member did a wonderful job; putting in 100% effort in their respective race.  Well done team!  We’d like to congratulate the following students that ran top 20 within their race:

A massive congratulations also goes to these 6 students, who ran an exceptional race, coming top 8 in their event!

Ryder B: 9/10B - 6th

Lachie K: 11B - 8th

Angus H: 12/13B - 2nd🥈

Dane G: 12/13B - 4th

Dante S: 12/13B - 8th

Charlie C: 12/13G - 1st🥇

These students will now represent our school and Dendy District at the next level, Beachside Division on Tuesday 28th May. A massive thank you 🙏 to the supporting parents Carla O and Elouise K, who gave up their afternoon to help with bus and event supervision.  It was so lovely to have them along with the team.  Special thanks to our attending staff as well: Peter Tyndall, Shannon Bourke, Bianca Antonio and Bernice Donato, who did a wonderful job supporting the team over the afternoon.

St. Finbar’s place 4th in the Winning School by %, and with overall points, came 4th.  We congratulate St. Joan of Arc for being awarded the Outright Winning School for this event.
