Learning together as one community

A big thank you to all of our new parents who were able to attend a Classroom Helper workshop this semester. We are so excited to have you working in the classroom alongside us.

In order to assist at Holy Spirit in any capacity you will need to complete our Child Safe Training. This must be completed each year.

If you have not yet completed this, please use the link below:

Term Two Curriculum Overviews

We are pleased to share our Term Two curriculum overviews with you. These documents provide a snapshot of the learning that will happen in your child's classroom this term.

Robotics by Kids Unlimited

Robotics is back this year!! This 8 week program will be run by Kids Unlimited.

It is an opt-in program, open to all students from Years 1 - 6, running for 8 sessions, beginning in week 3 - Wednesday 1st May. The sessions will be held in the library. There is a fee for this program.

Please note this is not a Holy Spirit staffed program. It will be run by the external providers at Kids Unlimited. As these workshops are being run by Kids Unlimited, students must be supervised, by their parents, from the end of day bell at 3:20pm until the workshops begin at 3:30pm.

Please open the flyer for more information and to book your child in. Places are limited!

We look forward to seeing what our students create in these workshops and cannot wait for them to share their learning with us.

Reporting

This term is a reporting term for our staff at Holy Spirit. Our Semester One reports will be emailed home in the final week of this term (Week 11).

To accompany these reports we have scheduled Parent - Teacher Conferences. These conferences will be held in Term Three on Monday 22nd July from 1:30pm. Students will be dismissed at 1pm on this day. The reason conferences are in Term Three is due to whole school swimming in the final week of this term.

At Holy Spirit we use the Victorian Curriculum to drive our learning outcomes in the classrooms. In 2023, the Victorian Curriculum released an updated version of the Mathematics curriculum for our Prep - Year 6 students. This year, in 2024, Holy Spirit have started using this curriculum to drive our planning, learning and assessment. This does mean there will be some changes with how our Mathematics report will look moving forward.

Further communication will be sent separately, in the coming weeks, to explain the changes and provide you with examples to ensure you have the most relevant and up to date information that we can provide you.
